Mrs.
I LOVE Downtown New Albany! It is such a wonderful, whimsical, historical, growing atmosphere! I love to walk about and see all that our beautiful city has to offer! I am a hair stylist, currently trying to open my new salon in downtown New Albany! I see many patrons daily and anytime I ask if someone knows of a place or has been downtown, unfortunately the answer is way to often , NO. This saddens my heart that more of our people are so dissconnected from the wonder and beauty here in our hometown! I truly believe The city should advertise itself more! I often here that people driving through cant see the signs on the buildings with traffic in a rush. I really think that more of our local businesses should have outward signs that read from both front and back, like The New Albanian has! it's much easier to spot a place when searching with the eye and driving and I feel it would benifit our city greatly! Im looking foward to joining the business owners downtown and hoping that our beautiful town continues to flourish! Thank you for the great work!

downtown
I love what NA has done recently....here is what would take it a step further....

New Albany could be very reminiscent of Asheville, NC. NA needs more unique restaurants downtown, shops from local vendors designers, i'd love to see the New Albanian put in a tap room type of restaurant (see Morlein Brewing Company) and what they have done downtown Cincy). A couple bars similar to Flanagans or O'shea's.

I love what has been done with the winery...would love to see the NAX open a location downtown, that is a very cool place, plus the food is amazing.

There is potential...please capitalize. Keep the Indiana people here!!!! Give them a beautiful, fun, attractive venue to visit.

to Develop Neighbors
Downtown could get a nice boost if landlords were required to maintain homes properly. As a homeowner I am surrounded by rentals that are allowed to deteriorate. Nice homes are carved up into as many rental units as possible. Driving down most streets is nothing but an eyesore. Give people nice streets to walk down. Increase foot traffic. Make it look like the neighborhoods have neighbors again.

stores
To many empty stores in the down town area. Nothing opens before 11 am. Do something to draw businesses to the downtown area. It's like a ghost town

Entrances..
It is a nice addition that we now have some wayfinding signage downtown. Yeah!

What about the entrances to downtown New Albany. Such as the entrances off of 64-Coming into downtown. Does the State own that land? The areas close to the Holiday Inn for instance and the Area by Riverview Towers. Would be very nice to have a well tended area with a "welcome to NA" signage there.

Restaurants on the River
Wouldn't it be great if our riverfront was cleared of the foliage and abandoned buildings? Let's re-invent downtown by allowing land developers to alter the appearance of the riverfront. Add some restaurants on the river and utilize the amphitheater by hosting plays, concerts, and other activities. This will generate community involvement and economic growth in downtown New Albany.

Community Gardens?
A community garden is a piece of land gardened collectively by a group of people. Different people may want to get involved for different reasons, such as for extra vegetables, for a strengthened sense of community, to beautify the neighborhood, to feel closer to nature. Do you think Community Gardens would be a beneficial resource for downtown and Midtown neighborhoods?
